Muddy smiles on a field test day are a positive sign. We set out on a classic Scandinavian Autumn morning and equipped our community riders with Explorer shoe covers and Knitted Waterproof gloves. After a short brief of ’have fun, go fast´, staff photographer Emil prepared his camera for capturing the mood of the day, and the riders were unleashed on the trails.

The conditions: Forest gravel roads and single track. Grippy, flowy trails with slippery sections and muddy patches. Dirt and mud spray was as unavoidable as smiles and loads of fun.

The mission: To stay focussed on the ride experience without worrying about cold hands, wet feet or dirty shoes, and to discover the benefits of the comfort provided by the Explorer Waterproof Gravel Shoe Covers and the Waterproof Knitted Winter Gloves.

The muddy field test was the final step in our R&D’s ‘use and abuse’ phase with a feedback process from a dozen test riders, ranging from former pros and elite riders to dedicated gravel warriors, revealing a need for distinct features and properties to achieve superb functionality. It was a process that made our R&D team determined and excited, and their work has resulted in cutting-edge products.

The muddy field test day was a rewarding experience—filled with camaraderie, grit, and passion—and it only strengthened our commitment to innovations that makes riding more enjoyable.
